Take Home Injection Instructions:

1. Wipe injection site with alcohol pad
2. Subcutaneous: With your free hand, gently pinch the skin at the injection site. You should be pinching 1-2 inches of skin
3. Holding the syringe 90 degrees to the injection site, insert the needles using a quick motion. A slow gentle push will cause more pain
4. Slowly inject the medication by gently pushing the plunger until the syringe is empty
5. Remove the needle gently but quickly and apply pressure to the injection site. Apply band-aid if needed.
6. Don't forget to store your take home kit in the refrigerator
7. Bring take home kit with empty syringes back to Glo for your new series of injections

What is Semaglutide?

Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists. These drugs work by mimicking

incretin, a natural hormone that stimulates insulin release, helping to regulate blood sugar.

What is Tirzepatide?

Tirzepatide, like semaglutide, belongs to the class of drugs known glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1)

receptor agonists. What sets tirzepatide apart is its unique mechanism of action: it activates both

glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) and  glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptors,

two receptors that play key roles in regulating blood sugar levels.

What Is Compounded Semaglutide/ Tirzepatide Prescribed For?

Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are both primarily prescribed for for weight management and

diabetes. Clinical trials have proven that semaglutide and tirzepatide are both effective in weight

management when combined with a proper diet and exercise plan. It works by regulating blood sugar

and digestion, curbing appetite, slowing the rate at which the stomach empties, and increasing feelings

of fullness after meals. These effects collectively reduce total caloric intake, which is crucial for weight

management. These medications have also been shown to reduce heart-related risks in obese patients

as well.

What are the precautions or potential side effects?

‍

Semaglutide and tirzepatide can cause side effects. The most common are gastrointestinal symptoms,

including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain and constipation. In some cases, more severe side

effects may occur, such as pancreatic inflammation, vision changes or low blood sugar, especially when

taken with other diabetes medications.

Who should not taking Semaglutide or Tirzepatide?

Individuals with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma.Those with Multiple

Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2. Patients with a history of severe gastrointestinal disease,

including gastroparesis, as these medications can slow gastric emptying. People under 18 years of age,

as its safety and efficacy in pediatric patients have not been established.
